Great update! Played through most of the new content already, and I can tell there is passion put into the project. Figured I would put thoughts, bugs noticed, and suggestions in this comment. I'll try and keep my suggestions different from what a lot of comments have been saying.
This playthrough, to switch it up, I focused only on Lily's WG so I could see if the gossip feature would function differently if only one of them was growing. I was pleased to see a lot of dialogue options surrounding this, such as Lily commenting that everyone else has stayed the same. So a lot of my thoughts might be based on that concept.
Not much noticed in terms of bugs outside of a couple so I will cover those first.
1. I've noticed an audio glitch sometimes with the beach soundtrack (of the waves crashing). The music sometimes stay playing even when leaving to other areas for the remainder of the day. Although I've only consistently noticed this glitch when entering the beach multiple times in a row.
2. Not much of a bug, but there were two points of inconsistency in dialogue I thought I'd bring up. Firstly, in Lily's dialogue (stage 6) when talking about Priya (stage 0), she mentions her cup size is 36H when everywhere else it says 34I. In a similar manner, there are times while Priya (stage 0) is gossiping about Lily, will mention her own WG (during Lily stage 2, 5, and 6) despite her not growing at all yet.
3. Lastly, there were points in the game where suspicion was raised at weird points including when working out with roommates. If that was the intention then ignore this point.
Comments:
I love the dialogue in this game. Each character seems to have a personality that they adhere to, and open up as you get closer to them which I find really entertaining.
Similarly, you do a great job at diversifying characters in personality and appearance.
I think my favorite thing about the game is the gossip system, which alone could probably have entire updates surrounding it. It adds a lot of replayability to prioritize certain characters WG just to see what the others would say.
And this last one is a kudos to you since you have been so efficient with your updates. And how content consistently comes even when you have bad work weeks (trust me, I relate to that so much). I am glad you are passionate towards the project.
Suggestions:
I must preface that I have no idea what you have planned so I could 100% provide nothing of value, but figured I would say some things to maybe spark some ideas.
1. I've mentioned it a million times already, but the gossip system is so creative, and I think can be expounded on even more, especially with future content of the volleyball team or the coworkers.
Maybe when certain characters gain while others don't, character interactions/gossip can be different (at least more than they are). Like maybe Zoe is more antagonistic towards characters gaining weight prior to her own since she is strict on her diet (she hints at this thought process but can for sure be expounded on), or similarly maybe Becca is jealous of Lilly's growth when she hasn't gained weight. (Obviously you know the characters better than I do so take it if you want or not).
2. I kinda hinted at this in the previous one, but I think more potential for negative interactions between characters would be super interesting. One of my stand outs this playthrough was Kristy's thoughts towards Bella's summer weight gain. I thought it was interesting to have an antagonist in a way to feed into her insecurities. Not everyone sees weight gain as a good thing and Kristy was interesting in that way (despite her good intentions). This could lead to fun playthroughs where Bella gains more and Kristy continues to be an antagonist, or where Kristy gains so she learns to be more sympathetic to circumstances like Bella's.
3. Once again, very similar but could be more focused on the roommates. I think a rivalry within the house could be super interesting, and could lead to some content ideas for Harper (or whoever else you have in mind). I know Harper is a particularly level headed character, but what if a character like Priya or Zoe really clashed personality wise and brought out the worst in her personality wise. To use Priya vs. Harper as an example, this could lead to fun routes of Priya plotting with you to cause Harper's weight gain or vise versa. Could lead to some fun tension, taking pot shots at each others growth. This type of tension I feel lacks within the house. The body positivity within the household is great but I feel it is a little unrealistic for everyone to be okay with it immediately.
4. A short one. I think while the characters found when working at the fast food restaurant (the no-named characters that gain weight with time) are really cool and could be used for potential concepts for characters. I mostly make this point because specifically The Elegant lady has such a cool character design that I almost wish she had a whole plot line to herself. Kind of a throwaway suggestion since I love the concept of customers that gain weight as you throw in extra food, I just think they are very unique sometimes.
5. Lastly, the school has so much potential (as I am sure you know). Obviously you plan on including Prof. Smith and more volleyball content so I won't talk about them. But I think a cool arc could be a student body president arc where you choose between one of two candidates to support. This could lead to interesting routes where you sabatage a character's chances of winning by causing their weight gain (like if their campaign was predicated on healthy food in the cafeteria, gaining weight would make them hypocritical, and thus they would lose support). Or the opposite, as the candidate you support gains weight, they become popular due to increased confidence or something.
Obviously take what you will. You can brush my thoughts under the rug if you want. If you couldn't tell, I really like the concept of a rivalry (lol). Branching choices, while probably tougher to program would lead to a lot of replayability. And for a game that almost needs to be restarted every time there is an update, trying out different outcomes would be a way to keep things engaging.
Thanks for the hard work
