Hey Cjnyc,
I completely understand where you're coming from. Whenever players mention they like Matt, I usually point out that he is a complicated one — for many of the exact reasons you've highlighted (but I tend to let people discover that themselves). Whether he'll ever manage to redeem himself in your eyes, only time will tell.
But humans really do behave like that sometimes. People often say one thing but struggle to follow through, or at least they can't do it immediately. Is that the case with Matt? We'll have to wait and see.
The fact that he's stirring up such strong emotions is actually a good thing, even the negative ones. Although I usually prefer writing more positive stuff, negative experiences are just a real part of life. That's exactly what we want with this game: realistic characters with genuine flaws and virtues who are capable of making players feel something deep. The good and the bad.
The only thing Iโd like to ask is if you could add a spoiler warning at the very top of your comment and leave a blank space below it. A lot of people here on itch.io haven't reached those parts of the story yet and might accidentally get spoiled.
Thank you so much for the feedback—it truly means the world to us. Let's see where this story takes us!
