i've played both poly routes (one where i hung out with ronan first, then gigi second. and vice versa) and i have to say i've absolutely fallen in love with this cast...!!!!!!!! all three of them are so wonderfully written. the moments where gigi or ronan just soften at bonnie's silly self had me squealing. giggling. kicking my feet. etcetera etcetera!!!!!!!! ronan isn't usually the character i gun for in VNs, but i...... have fallen as deeply in love with him as i have for gigi. i'm not immune to his charms............ bonnie has two hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i truly loved gigi's endless unwavering faith in bonnie's abilities though. this VN feels like it loved all its characters equally, bonnie included. i loved that she had her own moments to shine -- silly to say as she's the protagonist, but it's just nice to see! the writing overall is just sooo lovely. i love how your choices are commented on, in both big & small ways. how if you make bonnie a little mischievous, she'll continue being so later in the conversation!
that's without mentioning just how polished this VN is!!!!!!!!!!!! god, the art by squirrelcurls is stunning. the sprites are so emotive, the designs are beautiful -- i spent so much time just staring at the characters whenever they shifted expressions or poses, going "this is so damn cool" to myself over and over. i'm a fellow artist & i'm gobsmacked!!!!!!! -- and the backgrounds and the cgs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's just gorgeous...!!!!!!!
i love the animations & how dynamic all the scenes are!!!!! i hope more VNs do the same, because it truly helps readers -- well me, at least -- engage in the scene!!!
the point and click elements don't feel arduous. although, i am point and click fiend... i lovee clicking all the objects and seeing what they say. (colors of the sky.... that made me giggle. i see you) i love how they change after a scene with a character!! it's those small details that really show how much love you've poured into this VN.
ahhh okay, i could go on and on about how much i enjoyed this VN!!! but it was truly so lovely and i'll be thinking abt these three for days....
