I'm in love with the concept of this game existing for XIV and adore the artwork but I feel like not enough time has been given to the actual 'scenes' as rewards.
The scenes often rely on singular images which itself can be okay but is often THEN undercut by the use of descriptions that just summarize things as like "this continued for several minutes" or very short exchanges with a lack of actual description for the scene or any dense smut to really sink ones teeth into. This feels especially bad after spending 20-40 minutes at times between scenes trying to earn them.
My main critique would be just that, getting an actual smut writer or going back and vastly expanding each of the scenes so there's meatier amounts of text to them and more tactile raunchy descriptions for the actual act and how things progress. Also just fully remove any skipping of time during a scene as it's an unfortunately intense immersion breaking line to read while trying to be interested and focused on by what is supposed to be an 18+ smut scene as a payoff for the gameplay loop.
Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to checking on the game as it gets updates and I hope I was able to phrase my critique in a helpful way for the team!

Truth be told, I never actually wrote smut before starting to work on FF:HR and this is still a bit new to me, so that's probably why some of it still looks amateurish. Still, I'd prefer to try to improve my own skills little by little rather than hiring someone to write smut in my stead. At some point I'll definitely revisit older scenes and expand them to make them feel like proper rewards~
Rereading my comment and it was harsher than intended! And you’ve definitely got me interested in checking back regularly on the project. I think the writing is fun and well paced in other places too for what it’s worth, very easy to read a lot of the characters in their voices for a lot of lines!
I’m of the belief that writing carries like 75% of the actual NSFW part in ren’py games so it’s really high value stuff to hook your players and the art is mostly there to help them visualize what is effectively an explicit fanfiction they had to grind to get. Not to mention there’s a lot of wildly popular games like CoC that prove just how much just writing can carry a whole experience.
I’m also a dev(on a nsfw alt account ha) and definitely relate to how difficult it can be to develop a variety of skills and be a jack of all trades for your team. Please stick with it and the project will keep blossoming especially if you can nail the spiciness on the writing front! Look forward to the future updates!
