Thank you again for reaching out to me. The directions were simple and straight to the point. That being said, I felt this game to be severely cookie-cutter to other games I have played before, by no means is creating a game similar to another a bad thing, but there was nothing that makes this one stand out from the others right now.
Things to consider:
- Try creating a more ominous atmosphere that can drag me in to the experience, such as where we opened the ramen stand for example. Have some background history of the area: previous owners died, people go missing or get cursed etc.
- Add more scares. There was only one and it was very predictable for me. The second I was tasked to take the trash out I knew that jumpscare was coming. Adding to the previous point, create a sense of danger or dread as we progress, I want to start feeling like I shouldn't be working this late in unfamiliar territory. Like some customers are ghosts that we see as normal at first until after we serve them, then they are gone without a trace or you look back at something more disturbing. Hallucinations perhaps? or something worse?
I think overall you have a great foundation to start with, definitely took inspiration from other night-stand/night-shift games, which again is not bad by any means; but there's a lot I feel is missing that creates your desired outcome. Try to challenge yourself to make this one stand out from the rest.
I hope this helps, and I look forward to seeing the final product. Game Design is hard, especially when its just you working on this, and I have much respect for you dedication. I just don't want to see you or others like you fall short.
