Yeah the last level was meant to have shortcuts to encourage the use of spin-attacks (which keep your momentum over mud), but after reading this comment, I tested the shortcuts while driving normally and still got a gold. So I would agree that it can be cheesed AF. I probably should've blocked the shortcuts off more and made the spin-attack go a bit longer - good to know for next time!
