I just got done playing your demo and it was good! I liked how it was Doom/Wolfenstein like, would say add maybe more sound effects maybe add a crosshair and maybe add control tips like "press button to switch to item" because it took me a while to even find out I had different items but other than that it was good!

I totally get where you're coming from! Just in case, I put all the control details on the game page, though I completely understand it might not be super obvious at first glance.
