It's the same thing.

The staff has to review your case, and the time it takes varies greatly, so there's no way to give you a specific answer.

Some cases are resolved in a few hours, others take weeks, and in some cases, if it's determined that you've violated a rule, they simply don't lift the ban.

For additional information to give you some context: Itch doesn't usually review or approve posts (that's why there's no waiting period). By default, you can post.

If an algorithm that Itch uses determines that your posts are suspicious, it blocks your posts until they are manually approved.

I think there may have been a misunderstanding

I wasn't asking how long it takes to receive a reply from support. My question was specifically about how long a dev log post can remain in the "Waiting for approval" state before it is reviewed. Those seem like two different things to me. One is about support response times, while the other is about moderation of a dev log awaiting approval.

I do appreciate the explanation that approval times can vary significantly and that some posts may be held for manual review if they're flagged. That answers the question I was originally trying to ask.

Some of my comments have been waiting since last year for moderator approval. It was simple comments like how I like a game too, and what I liked about it. The only thing I can think of for the reason is that I wasn't active on the site for a while, then started using it again, so the overly-touchy spam filter said I was a spammer, and I've been flagged as such ever since.
