It does, judging by the stop code shown on the videos that cover the unsafe version, the stop code is 0xDEADDEAD, which refers to MANUALLY_INITIATED_CRASH, which means the application forced windows to crash. How does it work? I don't know, i'm not a developer, but there you go.
