Thank you so much for creating Fred80. The Apollo SAGA has been needing a programming language (other than "just learn assembler!") so I appreciate this, and look forward to getting started!

I will have to get a V4 board however, I have V2 Vampires right now, and without a programming language/environment I can use, I hadn't pulled trigger on a V4, but now I will buy one. Hopefully a good deal on a used V4 if I can find one. 😁

Hi Todd thanks so much.

I've been busy on my website creating detailed examples to get people started.  Take a look and let me know how you get along or if anything can be made clearer.  I'll be spending this evening testing them on the A6000 (just finished tests with the Mac).

I really look forward to seeing what you can make with Fred80.

While you wait for your v4 you cant still mac games on the windows or Mac version and they would still work on the vampire once you get it.  It might work on the v2 I just haven't tested it on those versions as I don't own one.

Also there will be a new release in the coming days too which will allow you to create a distribution package so you can share with friends any games you make or post it to itch too so the players of the game wont need fred80 to play it.

Have fun!

Here are the examples ^

Hi again. OK, I downloaded the Windows version to start figuring it out. Is there a forum somewhere to ask questions? or is there a section on the Apollo discord?  I couldn't see how to save programs. Probably something simple, but I couldn't see how. Also, I couldn't figure out how to get the examples from the example.html page in to see what they  look like -- I assumed I could cut and paste, but that only worked one line at a time, which didn't seem correct.  Anyway - where us there a user community forum for help/instructions. Thanx.

Hi Todd,

to save you press Control + S, to run Control +R.  I dont have a windows device to throughly test on just my sons laptop (which I rarely get access to)  if you run into any issues with the saving etc let me know and i can wrench the laptop form him and check.

The examples you would have to type in but they are quite small.  I tested them so they definately work

I can set up a discussion forum in this itch.

With the copy paste of the examples into Fred80 - ive been considering that.  I can try to implement that this weekend and send it to you if that makes things easier while you experiment with fred80.

OK - I wouldn't be surprised if Apollo would give an area on their discord. They have a thread for #ApolloBoot (which I don't think is an official internal project? Maybe? May be Not?🤷) and so them maybe adding a thread for #Fred80 would be a nice, convenient place too? It feels like a #Fred80 thread on the Apollo Discord would be seen by EVERYONE with an Apollo accelerator (and those considering an Apollo accelerator/board)

And yes, I would think that Cut & Paste would be very valuable, vs typing with my old eyes. 😁

I do also have a few suggestions - but I probably should try to find a manual... CRTL-S and CTRL-R are probably already documented somewhere which I didn't see yet. :)

Hi Todd,  Ive been quite busy but Ive implemented the copy paste feature you mentioned.  Ill try to upload the new version this weekend!

Thanks. And also happy to hear that the built-in screen saver is configurable, or has a longer timeout as well.  10 seconds was way too short. :)

But thank you again for being so responsive to the community... that's awesome
