I had the chance to pick up Folke: Lore of the Unseen People and was pleasantly surprised. The game does a great job of putting storytelling ahead of complicated rules, making it very easy to learn and start playing quickly.
What I liked most was the character customization. Instead of forcing players down rigid progression paths, your character grows naturally through the choices you make during the story. No two heroes end up feeling the same.
The setting is also fantastic. The world draws heavily from Celtic and Slavic folklore, creating a dark, mysterious atmosphere filled with dangerous fae, old superstitions, and hidden magic. The magic system is especially interesting because it encourages creativity rather than just picking spells from a list.
Overall, Folke is a great RPG for groups that want strong roleplaying, fast character creation, flexible customization, and a unique folklore-inspired setting. Highly recommended for anyone who prefers story-driven adventures over rule-heavy systems.
