how severely do dialouge choices impact the story and what you can do and are there serious consequences to your actions? like if you deny the chance of a threesome with edelweiss does that lock you out of some route?
Yes, absolutely, choices have a big impact in the game. Some of them really shape how the story plays out.
We're still early in the game, so it might not always be obvious yet, but a lot of choices are saved and tracked behind the scenes. Some consequences show up right away, others only later.
About your example, yes, refusing the threesome can close certain routes and open others.
For example, I already mentioned this in the shop, in version 0.10.0, there will be a romance route related to Acasia. Not every player will technically get that romance or that part of the story, because you need to have made a specific choice at the bridge to unlock it. That will probably need a clearer explanation later int he devlog, but going forward, more and more story content will be developed differently depending on earlier choices. Some parts of the story will be more developed than others depending on what you picked.
i feel like some major things like that shouldn't be locked behind something so early... I know what you're talking about because I saw the bridge scene but I fear that others will miss it and there should at least be an easier way to change paths/routes without starting again for fomo. Its all up to you how you wanna design the game tho. also does this mean no harem route? :(
To help with that, I'll probably add a gallery mode where you can see everything there is to unlock (later).
That said, some choices do follow specific routes.
Each choice leads you down a path, because otherwise the story loses its narrative coherence.
If you're looking for a game where you can get everything with no real consequences, this might not fully be that kind of experience.
There will definitely be a route with Harem. Everything depends on the choices you make.
When you play through the game, you should normally get a sense of where things are heading, at least on the big picture. If not, a bit of surprise is also part of the story. Some choices will block certain routes, and that's intentional. It keeps the narrative coherent.
(All devlogs will clearly explain all the added content btw)
