unfortunately any time i tried to play it in either fullscreen or standard, the game window squeezes down to this tiny rectangle D:

We are very sorry to hear that you experienced such issues with our game. Could you please tell us which web browser you use at the moment. We have tested it and the game should run properly in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox. However, you alway have an option to download the game and play it locally. There are builds for windows and linux operating systems.
