For what it is, The Cloud Messenger's Feast might just be tonally perfect. The project is upbeat and lighthearted without being obnoxious with characters that are simple, but with just enough dimensionality that they aren't truly shallow. Still, I see in this VN little more to engage than that. Thing is, the project seems resolute in not having a plot. So much so, I cannot tell whether it's like this intentionally or not. So many of its scenes are 100% fluff (bordering on filler), but the vibes are so carefree, I don't think they're trying to be anything else. Complementing all this is a melodic set of original music tracks that has that same peppy-but-not-obnoxious quality as the plot. I could say that I didn't really connect with the characters, that the plot didn't go anywhere or that it's mostly fat, but these critiques feel incredibly pointless in the face of a project that's just here to have fun.
