Cool concept!

Would be cool if the logs just got deposited automatically when you got close enough to the fire and if you could click on the fire to open the upgrade tree instead of using F. Currently there's also no way to close the skill tree, unless you press the F button or the ESC button. When playing in full screen, pressing ESC leaves the full screen mode though (which is not up to you, I get that, it's an itch.io thing).

When I attack the trees but don't destroy them, leave them at for example 50% of HP and I get back to the fire, when I go into the woods again, I don't see which trees were already hurt by me. It would be helpful to see which trees I already attacked so I could destroy them faster.

Using WASD to move around the skill tree has reverted controls. W goes downwards for example. This is counterintuitive and it's the reverted controls of the character movement.

The game lags heavily for about 2 seconds every time I go from the fire into the woods. I'm playing on Chrome 149.0.7827.54 on a MacBook Pro M5 Pro.

As for the lags, I noticed that the problem occurs around the first trees closest to the fire, but as I go further, the lags occur less and less frequently. I noticed that the trees are a lot denser around the inner circle, maybe this leads to an issue regarding the lighting?

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such detailed and thoughtful feedback! I am definitely planning to change several things you mentioned to improve the game.

About the lags, yeah, it is several things. The browser has a poor performance in the game overall, and I am surprised it works as well as it does, never thought of it being playable in the browser to be honest, haha.

The FPS drop when going into the woods is the change between the bonfire (no dynamic shadows) and loading a lot of dynamic shadows, as you mentioned in a very tree dense zone. I will try to pace it better by loading in chunks, but it already has a lot of optimizations in place, and in the desktop version you never notice drops if you have recommended hardware to run the game, but I will take another look there for sure in what can be improved.

Also I know you are on MAC, so you can't try the desktop version. I will also take a look if I can produce a MAC version down the road, which would be cool.

Thanks again for the incredible feedback and support!
