Awesome its so nice to see people having fun with it total passion project in my free time. I think i could do a better job of directing people to crafting and cooking near the start seems to be a sticking point. there is a really cool ring in the dungeon to the right if you get past the traps. really need to add some invulnerability time after you get hit so you don't get hit by every other trap when you panic. anyting you want to see added new item to craft, skill to train or object to build? Farming is most likely the next skill
I think a single text reference that you need a crafting table would suffice, so the player knows it's not in-menu crafting. I got the ring, but I bum-rushed the third trap on the way back when I realized that getting hit isn't insta-kill, but "only" drains your energy and during chopping wood that never killed me the few times I dropped to zero, so I assumed I could just cheese it. ;)
I actually think the difficulty is a bit on the low side, but that fits the atmosphere. I don't think it's too hard, if any a bit "too" easy. I pushed stamina up for carry weight and then farmed some oak when I got that, bought the level 3 backpack, etc. I think the game speed is well done and doesn't feel too skinner-ish. So far everything is foraging related, dunno if or how well farming fits into that, as it may shift the feel of the game from forest to farm akin to Stardew Valley, but who knows :P
My plan for farming is more food options with buffs and a big increase to cooking so you could make food that gives you a speed boost or protects you from the cold gives you a +1 to a skill for a duration stuff like that. Also for later in the game transportation via certain plants like an ent to allow you to get about easier when the map is much bigger. Nothing is set in stone yet the game is very much a sand box so you could ignore farming if it's not for you.
