before WASD started to become popular the standard layout for for direction controls was arrow keys , and for actions is space to jump , Z and X for the other stuff . if you use mouse its very awkward to play on a laptop , and using 2 different input methods just complicates things ... look at other games , lots use the keys ive sugested here

Wow, old school. Okay, very uncommon nowadays, but still a valid alternative.
Most games use WASD and it became popular for a reason. I get what you mean about the issue of playing on a laptop, however I use a laptop, but I never use the pad for gaming, I use a mouse, and they're dirt cheap these days.
i would disagree that the arrows is uncommon nowadays , loads of games on here use them as standard - in fact ALL pico 8 games use them ! look at the big games such as ori , hollow knight etc and they all use them ( but have the option to change if required )
if your on a laptop like me i dont have the space around me for an external mouse so have to use the trackpad , hence its awkward... im also left handed but have grown up gaming all my life using arrows so switching hands is difficult !
That's fair if it works better for you, and yeah, the old school method is more common in Japan still, but WASD became the standard for several reasons and you made it sound like your personal preference was automatically superior just because you like it.
WASD is less awkward for your wrist, and it gives you better access to hotkeys. Plus, for the same reason that you find it awkward as a left-handed player, most people find using the arrow keys awkward. The arrow keys on laptops are also wildly inconsistent in their sizing sometimes, so they'd be awful to use with certain layouts, whereas WASD are always the same size and orientation.
Just watch how you phrase things. Your initial post could have simply requested the alternate keybindings as an option, but instead you just insulted the industry standard without presenting any kind of alternative.
I had to ask to get the constructive part of your criticism out of you.
You straight up said it sucked without even proposing an alternative. Yes, you're entitled to your preference, but the way you started was unhelpful and unnecessary.
Simply request alternate keybindings politely next time, something like, "This is awkward with the track pad, could arrows and ZXC be an option please?" instead of just saying "this sucks" without any actual constructive feedback.
Grammar has nothing to do with it. The issue is your misleading comment. You said there was an issue with the mouse controls when you weren't even using a mouse.
Requesting alternate controls is fine, but you straight up lied. The issue wasn't the mouse, it was you using a trackpad. People will see that first comment and assume there's a problem with the game when the problem was your specific setup, not the controls.
