After adoring the previous three books, I pre-ordered Galeas the Keen and cleared my schedule on June 1st. On this first day of Pride Month 2026, I leapt to my itch account, slammed that download button, and proceeded to swallow this novella whole. I finished it in less than 12 hours. I’ll likely re-read it again and again in the coming years. What a wet book. I burbled with happiness for both Galeas and Liban. Hengroen made me chuckle. I immensely enjoyed the more Gaelic-based diction as a nod to the Fisher King’s origins. Gray goes all out on the water imagery and, combined with their signature ornate lush prose, I could practically hear the splash and lap of waves. We also get an inkling of how all the knights, mages, and royalty will come together later in the series.

Whenever an Out of True novella hits the shelves, it’s like sapphic Arthuriana Christmas in our house. My head spins and rolls.
