What is the license on these assets?

Well, the original 2025-10 release as licensed cannot be used to harm anyone’s human rights (the zip includes a license file). Apart from that, it’s fairly liberal.

The Extended Release is on Early Access, and therefore licensed on a case by case basis. What do you want to use it for? If it’s a hobby or an indie game or zine or something, i will likely let you use it for free or an only nominal fee.

You can e-mail me at drj@pobox.com if you want to discuss by e-mail

It would be for an indie game I am working on... or started to work on.

Nice. Can you say any more about it? Like, what themes the game explores; again, by e-mail if you want to. Again, i will be okay licensing it for free or nominal amount, would just like to know a bit more about the game.

For now, I can reply directly here since I don't yet have the entire idea yet, but it would be a text-based adventure, a recall to the old text-based games like Zork. The story itself is still open, most likely a fantasy setup, a hero journey type of thing... again, it's still in the early stages of concepts.

That sounds delightful! I would be happy to license you to use Typewriter B as part of your game, let’s call it Game 2026-06, and distribute it with Game 2026-06 in either binary packages or in source code. This license applies to all past and future versions of Typewriter B. If you need anything more wordy than that, let me know :) –drj–
