Hi, I’m a programmer who have some experience in Butano engine.
- I wrote butano-ldtk, which can import LDtk levels in Butano.
- I’ve also forked Butano engine to support PSG + PCM synchronized music playback.
I’d like to do a new project that incorporates above two for the GBA Jam 2026.
I’m specifically looking for:
- (CLOSED) A pixel artist, who can do the tileset and sprite animations for characters, considering GBA graphics limitations.
- A chiptune composer, who can bear the somewhat awkward workflow of using 2 different trackers (Furnace + it/xm/s3m/mod tracker) to create a PSG+PCM music.
- (CLOSED) A level designer, who can design the levels with LDtk.
I have a vague idea of top-down metroidvania, where you progress by eating enemies to transform into them (somewhat like Kirby games).
But this might be a huge scope for a game jam like this, so I’m totally up to different ideas.
