I was just thinking about this earlier today. We have a lot of LGBTQIA+ people in the ttrpg world making games. But they don’t all make “gay games” or “pride games”.

But in one form or another a lot of us ARE making QUEER GAMES.

And I think it’s interesting to look at an itchio storepage and consider the various ways that expresses itself for an individual creator but also for a person who just wants to recommend the stuff they like on their homepage or even with the entries on a Jam Page.

my manifesto is, at its core, to spark some kind of thinking or self-dialogue about what it really means to be queer and make queer art. despite the topic of this manifesto being very grounded and realistic, i’m using my story writing tone, not my blog writing tone, primarily because it’s not about “it’s not about women kissing or transgender characters”, it’s about “queerness is something way more intangible and cultural and contemporary and ever-changing”, and i wanted to leave people thinking
