a lot of these companies think they can just muscle the market into compliance. this only works for so long until you get a reputation like ea or adobe and eventual abandonment once a competitor emerges and is viable.
what baffles me on the rpgmaker decision is they KNOW its a niche product and are trying this anyway. the old forums were more then tech support. they were a plug in directory too. without this library resource making their product easier to use its going to see a drop in support.
worse yet some of those plug ins are likely to not transfer over be it a drama war driving them away or other issues sometimes communities just loose creatives and with them gone they likely wont port to the new gathering place corporate is trying to force with top down control... and if they left the community on bad terms they may attempt to block reupload attempts out of spite.
part of me wonders if they are trying to acquire a new demographic/audience by destroying the past so it cant compete with the future.
so many things torched this decade just because of someones ego... when will they stop burning the banknotes to feel warmth? anyway sorry for the length this bites.
