I thank you for the level-headed answer; but that's not what I was saying. I'm aware of how awful the AI industry is, who isn't?  (Side note: hate to say this, but I can't really think of any industry that's not harmful and/or unethical in some way, if you can, let me know)

I wrote this: "Using AI for programming is very different from using AI in creative works, I think you might want to look into that." I meant you should know the role of AI in programming today to be able to comment on it. No, you don't even need that, you just have to understand what programming is

"Not everyone can do that, and even I cannot completely rid it of my own life. When every website on earth uses AI, that's not feasible and I don't really expect people to. And like I said in the base post, I don't expect people to magically switch from Ren'Py, that's crazy, but I personally am able to do so, and so I will. "

Look, I'm going to be a bit of a d-ck here, but reading this paragraph...like, what is your point then? Why post this at all? (This is rhetorical question, I don't actually want typed out answers. I want you, and the downvoters to think about it)

(Edits) PS.: For anyone, who is concerned about AI in software:

I thought about this a bit, and there's no way of proving there was no AI assistance used in a contribution to Open Source Software, for example on GitHub. How would anyone prove if a certain person's code submitted was the result of a prompt or not? You literally can't tell! So following your logic, you'd have to boycott/not use all open source software, since there is legit no way of knowing if somebody's contribution to the source code is AI made or not...this category (OSS) includes Linux, Firefox, Discord and even Git and Python...so yeah

(Which makes me wonder: how are y'all so sure that Ren'Py is using AI? ((Which it most certainly does btw! :P)) But what's your source?  I presume somebody must have said they did openly?)

Plus as we all know, AI use is absolutely wild in proprietary software development, so sadly, you'll just have to deal with the fact that  anything that has to do with programming is done, cooked, thoroughly AI-d. Well, at least you don't have to worry about it anymore I suppose?
