we are a really small team, developing an ambitious game with tons of features, we cant focus on everything at once. Right now the focus is developing the game's features, and that includes using bunch of placeholders. Every game develpoment team uses placeholders, but in the past it was real ugly images or models. Nowadays we can use fancier placeholders using AI. So AI is indeed being used, but labeling as Slop is wrong, since this is an WIP project, our artist are working hard on characters right now, and dont have the time to make every art in the game manually, so we fill placeholders for now. 😌
