I find it interesting, but I don't see anything innovative. What makes me play this game and not another chess game?

Because it's fundamentally different than just "chess". Of course the core mechanics is still the same as chess, but if you play chess, the core gameplay can be broken down into opening, middlegame and the endgame. Those 3 doesn't exist in this game, so it's way less theory heavy. The fun part comes from the randomness of each match and how you have to adjust mid game.
