I have to be missing something.
Crank up the thing. Monitor for movement - nothing. Take 10 steps, get "I'm tired" messages. Check the radar, nothing. Sleep for 1/8th of the bar. Wake up, check the radar - nothing. Just going from the bedroll to the radar tires me out again. Sleep 1/6th of the bar. Check the radar, it goes out. Move the antenna (Where? On the railing? Other side of the cabin? No idea!), get tired halfway through it. Sleep 1/8th, wake up and get eaten.
Okay, try again. Crank the radar. "I'm tired" - already? Sleep 1/8th of the bar, wake up dead.
Okay, try again. Crank the radar, "I'm tired", sleep 1/10th. Radar doesn't ping or has gone out, but creature is wandering the railing. Grab the gun but "I'm tired".. I'm passing out while a creature is approaching and I've presumably slept the night before.
Either I missed where I'm playing someone with severe narcolepsy and a completely absent adrenaline response, or something's wrong with the tiredness counter. Or I'm missing something.
i'd recommend sleeping 1/2 then checking radar, then sleeping other half and doing that should have you not needing to sleep again for a minute. I never had any problems with being constantly tired, especially if you're only moving to change the antennae, and on that subject... if you wind up your power while there's no connection, you will see the screen gain connection again while you are moving the antennae so you know exactly where to put it!
