no linux version in the big 26
I can understand the frustration/disappointment about that, but I know from experience that building GameMaker games for Linux can be nonsensical and infuriating.
I've tried on two separate occasions now, both using actual Linux installs rather than connecting the windows IDE to a Linux VM, and neither succeeded: the first one hit a roadblock because the documentation on which libraries you need to install (separately from the IDE) is incomplete in some documentation, completely absent from others, and actually accurate in one bit which I did not find initially. The generally very good GameMaker manual simply doesn't point you toward it, and I had no reason to believe I'd need to go searching elsewhere.
The second attempt - from like two days ago - also failed. Even after installing all that & being able to run the game in the IDE, building it would fail to include necessary libraries, all of which are deprecated to my understanding, making it impossible to run. I tried to get the required files manually, but I couldn't find the first one and gave up. (I suspect the 'connect to a VM' method would actually make it work, unlike a native Linux IDE, but I don't know yet. Either way, this is absurd)
So, ye, I definitely have sympathy for not getting a Linux build out >w> not that it makes it any less unfortunate.
