Yeah, the previous commentor was saying this isn't necessarily just under otome bc the MC is gender selectable, they're not a straight woman unless the player is playing as that (which would be where the otome tag could be implied, though not limited). That's why the tags are josei and amare, not otome!
Otome does generally mean romance for straight women, BL and GL have their own distinctive genres, but i actually agree with you on this one, you can choose your pronouns so i don't consider this a classic otome, however keep in mind the writers, sometimes its hard as a writer to write a type of romance you have no experience or exposer with, as a writer i focus more on straight stories or BL, it would take me serious deep dives to even attempt a GL romance
