I love horror games. This one was fantastic.
Feedback/Critique:
- UI: I’m going to start here because this was the one area that I think is the weakest. There was no way to pause, no in-game menu, no volume controls. The game needed this to add that last layer of polish. Also, at the golden shop, for some reason, I was unable to purchase the crystal when I clicked on it, possibly bugged? That said, the UI otherwise was great - great intro, dialog and interaction tips not too intrusive, and the screen progression are all well thought out.
- Onboarding: It was a bit confusing what I was supposed to do at first. When the first customer came in, I didn’t know what I was supposed to do and ended up shooting at him. It was only at the second customer it became apparent that I had to go to this door. That said, once I got to the door, it became fairly intuitive from there, though having the controls down at the bottom were probably not enough for the first time in combat, especially as I’m being attacked and having to process these controls at the same time.
- Gameplay and other stuff: I’m going to lump the rest of the things I judge together, because overall, your fame was pretty fantastic. I loved the concept that came with this, the graphics were great and smooth, great sound. No music? :-( A minor ding - I think it would have lent some atmosphere to the game. But the loop was well done and I had fun playing this.
Overall: I know I gave you a lot of critique up front, but I had to get that out of the way because I loved this game so much. It was very well done. The points I highlighted are polish issue for a fairly cohesive and well put together game. Well done!
