Great game! I really liked the sense of humor in the items (like the milk and 'reverse milk' with a negative price, or the 'jelly donut'), and the loop of gaining and losing weight felt great. The visuals are perfect for this; the smooth progression and regression of weight stages is really well done here. There's a natural up-down-up-down-up-up-up-up-up weight pattern with the food unlocks, and that up-up-up-up-up is suuuuper thematic and hot, yet it's just from how the mechanics work. Loved it. I even loved picking exercises for the girl based on what animation it's easiest to feed her during, I found that really immersive. I have so much positive to say about this!...
But there's a massive pacing wall right in the middle! Even after I gave up on mashing and set up a ridiculously fast autoclicker (500 clicks a second), it took a bit too long to get enough money for the last shop upgrade level; I ran out of unique dialogue to see. The items there:
(lategame spoiler, idk how to spoiler tag on itch)
[the hose and the uranium sugarcube!]
are super fun, and I think every player should get to see them. It seems to me like the price to upgrade $/tap, or the cash yield from each $/tap upgrade, scales a lot slower than the shop prices do. Reducing the shop prices or increasing income would fix it, I think. If I missed something that would make it progress quicker, I dunno where that would be, and it should probably be communicated better. Even though I really liked the game, I'm not going to grind for the highest-level unlocks because it'd just take too long! I hope this project continues being developed, at least to fix this gulf.
Also, thanks for being honest about using AI on this project. It's not very "AI slop"-y; I felt there was a strong sense of author voice in the text, and none of the visual assets are obviously AI-generated. I did get the sense it was only used for translation purposes. I'm not gonna opine one way or the other about it being used, but disclosing its usage is appreciated, especially since you didn't really need to.
My dream version of this game is basically the same as what we've got now, but without that big pacing slump. I hope that dream comes true!
