Okay, so as far as I can tell, I've taken the two steps necessary to obtain the ritual spell. However, I can't figure out any way to use it to get into the forest temple. Am I missing something?

Okay, I researched it in the library and I still can't open this temple door. It's night time during a full moon- is there some other step I'm missing?

No, if you have the ritual spell, and you cast it in front of the temple inside the forest near Tarkas during a full moon, you should get the door to open (you can tell there is a full moon because a symbol above the door appears). I just tested it and it worked, so I am not sure what could be the problem.

I think the issue is that the ritual spell never showed up in my spell list even though the game told me I learned it. Either way, I finished the game last week and it was a lot of fun!

Wait, did you equip the ritual gemstone? The steps are as follow: you find the magical gemstone in the first temple, find the secret room in the second temple to turn it into a ritual gemstone and then you equip the new stone when you want to use the spell.
