I always love to see someone's first game, it's very good and interesting!

Feel free to ignore all of this but your game gave me a lot of ideas!

First of all I think you could also tackle the topic of racism it seems like it would work really well in your setup.

Second of all I think you could replace the "social status score" by example professions or something like that, i think it's not immediately clear what it means.

In my dream version of this game, you dont play the people one after another but you randomly get one, and as you click the white bar reveals what kind of privilege the person ha, like a lottery ticket xD

But the game works rather well already!

Thank you very much for this feedback \o/

There is indeed so much to do with this concept. I killed a lot of ideas during the creation of the game XD I had to opt for more "basic" game options in order to avoid having too complex code. The ā€œsocial status scoreā€ was a way to avoid managing complexity linked to managing different jobs for parents. I also thought about indicating where the person lives to give a clue about their social class of origin, but that was a little too subtle for the simple state of the game.

Ethnic origins were also considered. But with only 4 characters I would have quickly fallen into caricature.

I also dismissed the idea of queer characters. To illustrate the character's coming out, the game would have had a sudden increase in difficulty and the first name would have changed.

I also dream of a random version where we discover the character little by little depending on the difficulties :3

I don't think I'll update the game. Maybe once my coding skills increase I'll make a larger version. I'm considering making a version for Twitch where it's up to the spectators to interact. Create some kind of support to then discuss these topics in a documented way.

Thanks again for your comment \o/

it's very interesting to hear all the thoughts and obstacles that you faced during development, I think you made the right calls!
