Heya! How are you doing? Nice work overall. The game already feels it has a foundation to keep working with, and I really liked the asset style.
A few small notes from my playthrough:
- It would be nice to have a skip button/key for the controls screen after the first launch.
- Maybe place the first memory card near the starting point instead of the “2” card, so the collection sequence is clearer.
- I had trouble finding more cards. The map feels large and polished, but the fog is quite strong in some areas, especially near the start, under the bridge, in the cave, and around the ruins.
- A very small HUD element, like a north-facing compass, could help navigation a lot.
- Pressing “Esc” again to resume from pause would feel more natural for keyboard/mouse players.
- On multi-monitor setups, the cursor is not locked to the game window, which makes camera control difficult.
- Underwater visuals/texture and a bit of floating physics could add a lot to the feel.
- Possible bug: in some water/algae areas, the breathing timer starts at 02:59 instead of 01:59.
- I played the “IslandOfMemoriesV3_linux.zip” version, and I could not toggle hints/maps or some features shown on the intro screen.
Overall, it feels like a good sandbox for future improvements, with a lot of potential for story and exploration.
