I definitely understand fantasies don't have the emotional impact that real scenes would, but I also want to keep the story somewhat believable and grounded. And just having sex with the characters given their history and relationships would not make a lot of sense. So the fantasies are there to give a little something, while the tension keeps building for an eventual bigger release. :D
