Hey Classmate! Great job coming through on this. Solid work. Bravo!

As far as the game goes, I had a few quick notes:

  1. I had some issues selecting replies during the quests. Every time I selected a positive response, it seemed to revert to a negative response when I interacted with the bar guy. I a lot of, "Your Loss" :)
  2. Those clouds.
  3. Overall, you set out to create a game that revolved around “a small-town mayor that needs to connect with the local townsfolk to host a successful community event,” and you did exactly that. Bravo!

I agree that this fits well as an incorporation to the proof of concept for the course. Once more, bravo!

I will post more in the course discussion.

Thanks, Grumpy! As always, appreciate the feedback. I will have to look at what is going on with the dialogue system with the bar manager, as obviously that is not the intended design. I think what I will try to do is move to a keyboard selection process, as bringing up the cursor just for dialogue seems like it might not be the most refined solution.

Matt, I figured it out. It was the highlight color scheme.

I was clicking when the color change occurred, but the color blended into the environment. Because of that, I thought the darker color was the actual selection.

Perhaps a simple alphanumeric selection / input would resolve that issue. A green highlight color for the selected choice could also help distinguish what is currently selected. Even a simple up/down toggle would work.

I made it to the airplane ride and rode that thing for about half an hour. LOL! I stayed on it that long because I was trying to figure out how to land it. LOL! Maybe an “I” key mapped to instructions would help, or an Instructions button in the Pause menu.

Boss, it is a fun and engaging game. I was entertained, very much so! Solid!
