Okay, I have to admit upfront that this is definitely not my kind of game, as I lack the patience for riddles like that. So take my feedback with a grain of salt.
First, a few technical glitches I ran into: I was unable to properly scale this game to fullscreen as the game went black then. Zooming my browser did not help either, as it would turn black at a certain zoom level. Then I noticed that the character keeps running into the walls/desks if you turn towards them when already standing next to them, which was slightly irritating and caused to backtrack a bit to avoid that situation.
The environmental storytelling at the outset is quite intriguing. What is this evil creature locked in the back? Does it have any relationship to the black dust in a jar? Why am I here? Just a few questions that popped into my mind during the first minute of play.
I then gathered all the items in the room, eventually relocated one jar to the “lab” table, I guess? Piecing together some of the paper was tedious at the tiny resolution I was playing at and I could not find a workable solution. I am guessing the door code is on there. I also had no idea how to open the vault as the crowbar does not seem to be the right tool.
I am not sure if it is supposed to be hard to see if you’re on the right track, but some kind of intermediate feedback would have helpful. Perhaps paper pieces snapping together or something like that?
I also think the visuals could benefit from more contrast of the parts most relevant to gameplay to guide the player’s attention a little more. Most items are a bit of a brown/gray blur (save for the monster and the chemicals).
Altogether, it looks like an interesting premise but I lacked the patience to bang my head against the wall to figure out what it was all about.
