I did it! Just barely with only 1 hp left.

This is a neat idea, having one character needed for combat and the other for utility. I'm not clear on why they had the blue line between them, I get that it fits the Connections theme, but it didn't appear to be relevant in any way. It doesn't limit how far one character can move from the other, and it goes through solid walls and so on; it appeared to be visual only.

The inclusion of the spikes adds an extra element to combat, though I did mistakenly place one down when trying to pick up a different one at least twice. The laser sword having an overheat function is also an interesting mechanic, but it's odd to have a set number of uses before that comes into play: if I have one attack left and wait five minutes I'll still have one attack left, whereas if I use that one attack, I go all the way back to ten after the three second recharge. It also felt like there was a hidden cooldown between attacks regardless of heat level.

congratulations on the 1 hp clutch 😄

and thank you, this is a super useful and detailed feedback. You’re totally right about the connection line - right now it’s mostly visual, but it definitely feels like it should have at least story meaning.

also good catch on the sword heat system. it currently works more like charges + reset than actual overheating, which is why it feels a bit weird. and yep, there is a small hidden delay between attacks too - now we see that we could have decrease the delay or indicate how much is left from the delay
