Iām currently working on an app in VS Code using Codex / GPT-5.5 workflows, and I took a week off from the app because I wanted a fresh perspective after working on it for so long. I also wanted to test how well GPT could handle making a game without direct access to the engine itself — but with access to the whole game folder and project structure.
And honestly… as you can see, it handled it surprisingly well š
Before this test I felt like app development speed with these systems was still kind of slow, but after making this game I realized the pace is actually much better than I thought. So the jam ended up being both a game project and a really valuable experiment for me.
