How do i update without unistalling or losing my progress?

After downloading the new version, change the old version's name to the exact same name and put the new version into the same folder. on win or linux a prompt ask u to overwrite or delete the old version. always overwrite to keep the save folder, old logs, tracebacks and archive. If this doesn't work, use the new game folder (a clean, new installation) as your base and copy the contents of the old save folder into the new save folder.
note: this works as long as the dev does not change the saving system or structs, so it is possible that there are some version-exceptions. always make a copy of the .txt file called "logs" and the save folder (in case there is one) for safety. idk how to do it on android. this works with every other game with similar structure. like reckless love, wolf complex etc. btw i recommend reckless love, its my fav.
