TLTR: Developer owns the damn game, not us freebies. Let the dev cook.
Many are getting too comfortable with the game, as if it can just breathe and update on its own, rather than trusting the developer who literally explained why they had to do what they did.
Personally, it is a shame that the charm and appearance of the original is gone, that much I agree. However, an update to appearances is also a nice chance for the developer to keep improving their skills.
On the other hand, I never delve far into the storyline, because it always felt off to me, or the UI visuals weren't there the whole way. Others may argue me on this, but that's just my take.
So, I don't mind redoing the storyline, because you want to make it worth it (I mean, christ ya'll, I know you play the other h-games on itchio, and you know some had to force us to replay from the start. So stop picking on this developer for their "crime".).
Now, with that said, having interactable bubbles is odd, but I'm sure that's just a placeholder type of deal (I mean, again, this isn't a full-fledged game. Things are bound to look awkward). But, at least that keeps us focused on key areas, rather than moving our mouses everywhere as if there's a secret under every pixel.
I saved early in the prologue, and when I came back the background image is on a blackout spasm spree. Seems like the rendering is allergic to being loaded in from a save file. I'm no game wiz, but hopefully that gets patched up soon.
Other than that, I hope this means we'll get better animations and more from the dev in avoiding spaghetti code (Yes, I read the 0.2.1 log. Yes, it's "long" but good god ya'll, stop using the internet and go steal a baby's tablet if you don't wanna read text.).
Keep pushing forward, developer! Listen to proper feedback, not complaints. Haters always try to look like they're "helping" but don't offer actual feedback, and love to whine.
