Thank you for the explanation. Accusing someone of “not being in the right mind” based on one sentence in the synopsis, for a game you have not played and know nothing about, reads as disrespectful to me, although I understand that you didn’t intend it as such. I’ve been called a variety of things during my time as game developer, which is fine and something to be expected, but broadening it to “everyone who enjoys this game is not in the right mind” is not something I tolerate, especially because I want my comment sections to be safe spaces for my players to share opinions about the game.
That said - regarding your question, for the short answer: the man who has been following you is exactly your age. So when you knew each other as kids, he was a kid. I wanted to make it clear that the love interest in this game is a man for the synopsis, so I didn’t want to use “person,” and “boy” would also be inaccurate, so I went with “man.” All of this is cleared up in the first ten minutes of the game, so it’s never been an issue with players, but I’m sorry for the misunderstanding regardless.
