This is the most genuinely disgusted I've felt from being in the mind of a Point-of-View character since I read Lolita (though, of course there's obvious bias in my own perspective/experience). I found your writing of Claire to be immaculate in that regard-- absolutely sickening watching the inevitable unfold.
Didi's character is exactly what she needs to be-- abrasive in all the right ways to be the perfect victim to a middle-class white woman's whims. Every time she asked explicitly for consent was a horrible (beautiful) little knife twist.
