Honestly, just try to have fun with it. Maybe try to make a really small game to teach her to how to format the art/upload it. I know for when i actually did it in a team with my friend who does art, the pixel art would always be blury, but we fixed it. Just something that can get her comfortable with pixel art for game dev. But again, just have fun with it!
