If you're on PC, I'd recommend making sure drivers are up to date. (Check for any pending GPU driver updates).

While in-game you could try pressing Shift + G to bring up the debug menu. You could try changing the renderer here, saving and restarting the game. Disabling the gamepad option can help in certain situations.

I'd also have a look at the 32-bit .exe if these aren't helping as it can also help in certain situations.

If you're playing on Android, unfortunately performance can vary device to device.

Sorry to hear those didn't work. Could you try grabbing the game from our Patreon and trying that? Sometimes the servers on Itch are wonky and cause some issues after downloading.

This is the latest free version. It requires a Patreon account, but free to create an account if you don't have one already.

Give that a try (saves should sync over automatically). You could also try the compressed version of the game, which lowers the image/quality a bit, but lowers the download size too.

Thanks again! This time the compressed version actually helped, and now the game runs mostly fine. The quality definitely dropped quite a bit, unfortunately, but still — thank you for the help, I really appreciate it.
