I apologize for the inconvenience you're having while playing. I see that you're having trouble in chapter 3. If I may ask, what difficulty were you playing on? I'm still trying to balance each difficulty of the game while still trying to maintain the helpless feeling you'd have in chapter 3 as an unawakened individual against people with magic.
As for the rent mechanics, it's subtly implied in the story if you were playing the solo-route. However, I can see that the reminders is lacking, I'll try to fix it in the next update.
I'm also working on the save system of the game to improve people's experience in replayability for the next update.
