This a such a cool entry, definitely one of my favorites in the jam! I adore the minimalist art style and the simple color palette matches it excellently.  You nailed the aesthetic on this one (and the title rocks too). The core mechanic feels great and I loved that you didn't tell the player anything just threw them to the sharks (quite literally) and said figure it out. It felt very good for this game.

A couple (hopefully constructive) criticisms: timer font should be bigger, slight ripple animation in the lava as sharks swim and boat moves would be nice, the camera could do a better job tracking (especially when moving towards its borders), and a lava bubbling sfx in the background would be good (the rain feels a bit too peaceful for the setting imo).

That being said I really enjoyed the depth of game play from just a two button controller (maybe 4 buttons with the ability to row backwards would be cool?) and I think you have a really cohesive and impressive entry for such a short jam duration. Awesome job, and keep up the great work!

Thank you very much for the kind words and thorough review!  I really appreciate you taking the time, you gave me some great ideas on how the game could be improved.

Another thing (which is on me for not communicating it well enough) is that the lava is actually water haha. The game is set in a seastorm, and i picked a red color pallete to reflect the chaotic and violent nature of one. It makes every bit of sense that one would assume it's lava, but I wanted to clear that up :)

I'm very glad you enjoyed the game! (Congrats on your Easel prize!)

Ahhhhh I didn't realize it was actually water lol. Regardless the game looked and felt great :)

And thank you!! Although it does feel a bit weird to win a prize for making the worst game in the category :p
