You are already in :) The reason it's not showing up is because none of the submissions are visible until the rating period begins after the jam ends (June 1st). 

I do have to  ask about your response to the 2weeks question though! You said you started working on it prior to that; would you say that's because you're using assets/components you made previously, or you were actively developing a pac-man like before the jam and you are submitting that game?

I chose that date because it was around the time I resumed development, but for a longer period. I had already created it a month or two prior, and seeing that it wasn't very popular, I decided to go back to improving it and adding more features. So, perhaps when you try it, it will be in a different version, because what I'm planning now is to redo all the sprites with more polished ones. 

Aside from that, I decided to publish the game on other platforms so more people could play it, and when I saw there was a Game Jam about it, I took the plunge and submitted it in case more people would play and discover it. I'd be really bummed if nobody played the game and it just fizzled out, but since I don't control that, it's all up to the algorithm...

Getting playtests and feedback is the best for any game project for sure, so good thinking :) I hope you get some attention to it!

Okay, so, this is important: During this jam, we've been getting more "previously made" submissions than usual, so a new jam rule is forming in real time. That's what the new question in the submission form was about.

Since you made the game prior to the jam, your game will be disqualified during the ratings period... BUT !!!

  1. Your game will be requalified after the ratings end (meaning your game will remain a visible public submission forever, just not during the first week after the jam ends)
  2. I plan to feature these temporarily disqualified, "previously made" games on the jam page itself somehow in a special section during the ratings period! That way people will still see them, and may react to them if they want to. This might catch your game some more eyes at one of the most visible moments for the jam.
  3. At the end of the ratings period, I play many of the games during a showcase livestream, around 20-30 depending on different things. After the jam ends, a "queue" will open up that you can join to submit your game to be played on stream. Doing so might bring a few more eyeballs. I'll send email(s) out about this so just stay joined and you'll receive info.
  4. I'd be willing to play your game on stream on a break while working on my own pac-man like, if you want. Not only does this give you feedback from me or whoever's watching, but someone else may try it as well.

Okay, thank you for helping me shape this new rule. I think these seem like fair and quite nice offerings that still avoid giving an unfair advantage to certain entries when competing for prizes and the like.

I have no objection to the rule you just introduced, and I agree with it. It's true that more people could have submitted games made outside the Jam period, and since mine is one of those, these games might even have an advantage because they were created beforehand. I have no problem with that. However, if you happen to play my game during one of your breaks, first, thank you, and second, I'd be mortified. It's not meant to be mean, but even on a YouTube account I had, I was embarrassed to watch the videos I posted even a day after uploading them. But if you play it, great! How would it work? Would it be like a "I'll try the games live(system for the first 20 or 10 people who respond )"? Or something different?

 Honestly, I'd like more people to play it... I know I'm not a great programmer, and I don't want to pat myself on the back for being the "best Scratch programmer" or an "unrecognized gem" or anything like that. No, I'm not an expert at all. It's just one of the few projects I've seriously dedicated myself to, putting in hours just to programming, creating sprites, and finding sound effects (from public, copyright-free websites, of course). And it bothers me that nobody plays it when it could be fun or even just a way to kill some time... 

And now, I'll say goodbye because I don't want to take up any more of your time reading all this. I'm sure you have more important things to do, and I don't want to bother you any further. But I just want you to know that thank you for letting me participate. Even though I didn't win any prizes or anything, just being part of the Game Jam is great!

For the showcase queue, anyone who joins that queue gets their game played on stream no matter what. Submissions not in the queue will be played based on their rank until hitting that 25 or 30 game mark.
