This was a fun one! The starting area was a really good way to teach the mechanics, because you pretty much have to do the thing before the game lets you move on. The fire jump was probably the one part that still took me a bit to get, and I’m not sure how obvious it would be to someone who has never heard of rocket jumping before.
Once I got it though, the platforming felt good. I liked that there were optional paths too. Being able to recover from mistakes also helped a lot. It made me more willing to try stuff instead of feeling like every missed jump was going to ruin the run.
Only a couple things really stuck out. I did not notice the dark timer at the bottom until near the end of my second playthrough, and when I let it run out, it looked like it just reset? I also hit replay after beating the level, and the coins I had already collected did not seem to come back.
The music was great, especially the transition from the tutorial area into the main part. The style/gameplay/music all fit together well. Just needs a little more cleanup in spots, but this was a good time.
