I’m a fantasy author and game designer so EVERYTHING I do has some form of magic. Orboboros is no exception. While it’s based off the Wonderful Triangle Elf Game (Zelda), most of said games keeps him as a warrior, I wanted my Circle Rabbit Game to have wizards.
There are two ways to cast spells in Orboboros.
One: You can cast spells through wands. Each wand is an item trait with a single common spell. To use it, you need to make a spell casting roll and the wand will be depleted.
Need more wands? You can buy or craft them in downtime.
Wizards in Orboboros are folks who know how to create and use this magic.
Two: All throughout the world are Sapphire Orbs. Each has a spell written on them. Subsume them into your being and you can cast the spell without a wand. All Sapphire Orbs you subsume shine brightly inside you. To cast any of your spells you dim them. The casting is automatically successful. The orb will brighten again with time.
You don’t need any special knowledge to cast orb spells.
However, wizards can cast their orb spells through wands, depleting the wand instead of dimming their orbs.
There are 28 default spells your characters can find in Orboboros. They do everything from making a glowing ball of light to controlling the weather. Making new spells is easy.
So if you like wizards in a cute fantasy world, this game may be for you.
