For your first game, this was honestly pretty solid. The lack of enemy footsteps kept me constantly on edge since it could appear from anywhere around the house, which made the atmosphere really tense and unsettling.

My main issues were that the game doesn’t pause while reading notes, so the enemy can still move in the background, which made me rush through the story sections instead of fully reading them. I also noticed the enemy occasionally gets stuck in certain parts of the map, making it easier for players to avoid.

For future games, I’d also recommend adding clearer objectives or subtle waypoint guidance similar to games like Resident Evil, especially for important keys or items. Small visual cues can help players stay immersed without getting too lost.

Overall though, this was a really good first release. The atmosphere was eerie, the tension was effective, and the enemy design was genuinely terrifying. Great job, Emester!

I’d give it a solid 6 out of 10 notes! I also played The Charred Man on stream, will be posting the review after this one as well!
